The DIVERT Story - Part 5 - Ride Into The Future with DIVERT

Did you know that DIVERT is way more than just a pop-up in Los Angeles in the summer of 2020? Did you know that there is actually a fully designed and developed scale strategy that has prepared us for rapid growth and expansion? Not many people do, so let us let you in on a not so little secret.

At DIVERT, we have been fortunate to have the on-going support of some of the biggest and brightest thinkers in the world to help craft our vision from merchandise line, to 10+ acre park development and everything in between. In order to understand the full scope of the potential of an investment in DIVERT, it is critical that you see the entire opportunity from today forward. The DIVERTsessions Pop-up has been the focus of the conversation in this series, and rightfully so, it is the most immediately actionable and tangible and is the purpose of this WeFunder campaign. But even the pop-up is more than what first meets the eye. The pop-up, which is defined by being a temporary, outdoor activation, is way more than a one and done opportunity. The goal of this pop-up is to launch it in Los Angeles at Del Amo Fashion Center, and then take it across the country to other malls, distressed properties, universities and more.

We will utilize the pop-up as a source of on-going profitability, new market brand awareness and permanent facility market validation. To put it in simpler terms, the pop-up will continue across the country, make money in different markets, and give us initial market signals as to whether we should consider making the investment of a permanent build in that market or not. As if the pop-up is not exciting enough, imagine if we took the same concept and built a permanent version?



Imagine no longer, that is exactly what we have designed in the DIVERTsessions offering. If the pop-up is the proving ground, then the DIVERTsessions facility is the real deal. Once the pop-up has proven that a market has the appetite for a DIVERT offering, we have the confidence that a larger permanent facility will be worth the investment. A permanent DIVERTsessions facility will be positioned as the new anchor at existing malls and other retail developments. As Macy’s, JcPenny, Sears and more continue to go out of business, landlords are left with millions of square feet of available space that need to be filled.

Our team already has a pipeline of at least a dozen potential locations across the country and internationally that come with financially supportive landlords and partners. While the build out is more expensive, the finishes are more permanent and the facility is made to last, the program and mission remains similar. DIVERTsessions facilities include a wave machine, ski/snow simulator, skatepark, creative education studio, event venue and food and beverage service. We already have deals with specific landlords in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and more. We have selected all project partners, developed full project designs & business plans and are ready to develop and launch once the pop-up has proved the market. Our team is a great combination of dreamers and doers. It is the lofty goal that drives us to complete the everyday task, and as a result, we have also designed the ideal envisioned future. This future involves taking the DIVERT concept and developing it on the scale of an amusement park. The current design is designed on a 10-acre plot of land which we can expanded given the right opportunity and financing. Only once we have successfully scaled the local DIVERTsessions concept to markets across the country, will we begin to develop the regional draw DIVERTcity experience in major markets like Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Chicago and more.

DIVERTcity includes the same programming as the other DIVERT portfolio of offerings, it is just scaled up in every aspect. The wave machine is scaled up to a full wave pool. The ski/snow simulator is scaled to an 11 story ski slope. The skatepark rivals that of a regional skatepark. The event venue holds close to 10,000 people, the retail component has space for tenants such as Vans and Nike and the F&B is that of a large scale restaurant. Once we have a network of facilities, we will be able to develop teams that represent schools, cities and states and will be able to host touring competitions from grade school through college. Our ability to impact millions is what keeps us grinding, and we hope it inspires you as much as it inspires us.
